Taiwan Now a Trade Agreement Act Approved Country
GSA Schedule contract holders now can sell items made in Taiwan through their Schedule contracts. According to the July 14, 2009 Federal Register, Taiwan, known in the World Trade Organization (WTO) as Chinese Taipei, has become a party to the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA). The GPA will enter into force for Chinese Taipei on July 15, 2009.

Several states do not participate in the GSA Cooperative Purchasing Program and do not directly order from GSA Schedules. Instead they use GSA Schedules to form the basis of their own state contracts. The California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) was the first such state-wide contract based on the federal GSA Schedules. It is one of the easier methods for California agencies to purchase goods and services and has sales of over $1 billion.
