Technical Communities and BreakingPoint Sign Government Services Partnership to Deliver High Performance Application Test Systems
Government, military, and federal contractors can now streamline purchase of BreakingPoint application performance and security testing products
SAN BRUNO, CA and AUSTIN, TX, APRIL 7, 2008 — Technical Communities announced today a government services partnership agreement with BreakingPoint Systems, a leading provider of high performance application testing systems to network equipment manufacturers, service providers, U.S. government agencies, military organizations, and prime federal contractors. The agreement authorizes Technical Communities to provide government organizations with BreakingPoint products, service agreements and warranties including the BreakingPoint BPS-1000 and BPS-10k. With BreakingPoint products and services, government organizations can ensure the success of high performance computing and network security initiatives.
The BreakingPoint BPS-1000 and BPS-10k are the industry's first application testing systems that provide all of the components required for today's complex, dynamic, and high performance test environments in a single, easy to use device. Only BreakingPoint products generate a realistic blend of business, recreational, and malicious application traffic at speeds up to 10 Gigabit per second to effectively test next generation networks and network equipment. BreakingPoint also provides an AppExpress service that combines advanced surveillance techniques and methodologies to identify and capture emergent applications and security threats, and deliver them to customers in as little as a day. In addition to providing support for more than 25 applications for performance testing, BreakingPoint products can be used to generate up to 16.8 million unique attacks in 24 hours and 750,000 DDOS attacks per second for the most effective security testing. More information on BreakingPoint products is available at www.breakingpointsystems.gsamart.com and www.breakingpointsystems.com/product.html.
"Technical Communities is excited to offer the federal government a new generation of application testing systems capable of effectively testing high performance content-aware networks," said Peter Ostrow, President and CEO of Technical Communities. "Our goal is to continue to optimize the GSA buying and selling experience for organizations such as BreakingPoint."
"We've seen a great deal of interest from government organizations with mandates to ensure their applications and networks meet extremely stringent requirements for performance and security," said Des Wilson, CEO of BreakingPoint. "Until BreakingPoint, there was no testing product that could help these organizations emulate realistic traffic at the speeds required for high performance computing initiatives. With this GSA contract, government organizations can now ensure their networks operate securely at the highest levels of performance."
BreakingPoint products are under General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) managed by Technical Communities, which will provide content, transaction, marketing, sales support, and reporting services around them. Technical Communities also will provide presentation and order processing through the GSA's e-commerce web site, www.gsaadvantage.gov, and the company's own online marketplaces, www.gsamart.com, www.testmart.com and www.navicpmart.com.
