Senior GSA Contracts Administrator

Job Title: Senior GSA Contracts Administrator
Location: San Francisco (peninsula), CA or Herndon, VA

Responsibilities:

This position is a tremendous opportunity for a contracts specialist with a minimum 8 years experience as a government contract administrator and negotiator at a medium to large high technology, medical, life science or physical security business. The ideal candidate has a solid background in government contract negotiation and technology licensing to federal, state and local governments

This newly created position will report to a senior executive of the Company.

  • Primary person responsible for the Company’s contracts with both public sector customers and its clients (manufacturers);
  • Negotiate, draft, and review contracts;
  • Research, summarize, and provide guidance on complex matters for management and business partners relating to public sector contracting;
  • Maintain contact and regular interaction with Company staff, government contracting officers and attorneys;
  • Ensure timely and accurate contract and modification submissions; ensure timely and accurate product and pricing modifications;
  • Be the lead, along with Company staff, in structuring, responding to and negotiating proposals, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, sales and service agreements, as well as complex transactions;
  • Be the lead in addressing questions and resolving issues related to contract issues;
  • Remain current and informed on government contracting developments and trends; develop policies and procedures that address these developments; disseminate and train Company staff;
  • Review and analyze current policies and procedures; develop set of recommendations with the estimated ROI to make the operation more efficient;
  • Current, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of GSA Schedule contracts, service issues and related business practices, and policies and procedures; must have ability to apply this knowledge to both standard and non-standard transactions;
  • Support the Company’s public sector sales efforts and represent the Company in federal, state and local sales and services activities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience negotiating, modifying and administering GSA Schedule and GWAC contracts;
  • Extensive experience with FAR, DFARS and agency supplemental regulations
  • Ability to analyze and negotiate contract or subcontract requirements, special provisions and general terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedures;
  • Detail oriented, extremely accurate, yet quick / efficient;
  • Manage multiple tasks, projects, deadlines; Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow;
  • Meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university;
  • National Contract Management Association or similar membership or certifications a plus;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; ability to assimilate and analyze information and concisely summarize / report / discuss for senior management;
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledgeable in Oracle database / reporting tools / ways to extract data
  • Quickly gain knowledge of the business, the environs, and key business drivers;
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards;
  • Occasional travel;
  • Work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work enthusiastically with changing priorities.
