Department of Defense Awards TestMart Blanket Purchase Agreement to Supply Test Equipment

Arrangement launched with $4 Million deal to provide U.S. Military with Xantrex Technology programmable power supplies

SAN BRUNO, CA, — June 27, 2005—TestMart, the leading sales, marketing and service provider for the test and measurement industry was awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the Department of Defense (DoD) to supply Government Services Administration (GSA) Schedule test equipment. The agreement was launched with an order to provide up to $4 million in XantrexTechnology, Inc XHR Series programmable power supplies to the U.S. Marine Corps over a five-year period.

The BPA will help the DoD get necessary test equipment quickly, streamline the procurement process and reduce overall costs. These agreements are typically used by facilities or government agencies that have standardized around a particular product. They help the agency lock in a fixed price and bypass future time consuming bid competitions. The arrangements provide large quantities of previously competed GSA products over a defined period of time.

“The signing of this Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Department of Defense is an example of TestMart’s application of our government procurement services to the sales efforts of our manufacturer partners’ to the U.S. government and military,” said Peter Ostrow, TestMart president and CEO.

The initial order of Xantrex power products will be delivered over four to five years with initial shipments starting this quarter. The high power density, one-kilowatt XHR product converts alternating current into a wide range of precisely controlled direct current power for test and measurement applications.

“The XHR was selected because it has the highest power density of any benchtop programmable power product, and because it was the best match in terms of form, fit and function for the customer’s specifications,” said Mossadiq S. Umedaly, Xantrex’s Chairman. “We have a long history of supplying the U.S. government and its contractors with high-quality products, including a version of the XHR that has been operating for several years on board the International Space Station.”

In April, TestMart and Xantrex announced a new exclusive government services partnership. Under that agreement, TestMart would market and sell an exclusive catalog of Xantrex products to the U.S. government, military and authorized federal contractors.
