Service offers sellers price guide on thousands of used models, secure transactions and full privacy
SAN BRUNO, CA, — August 10, 2004 — TestMart ™, the leading sales, marketing and service provider for the test and measurement industry, has launched TestMart Sell Direct.™ The service makes it easier, less-expensive and quicker for sellers to get direct access to thousands of test equipment buyers.
Located at selldirect.testmart.com, the new TestMart Sell Direct™ includes:
- Free, unlimited seller test equipment listings
- Suggested prices on thousands of models with the new TestMart Price Guide™
- “Make an Offer” feature for price negotiation
- Buyer and seller privacy throughout the process
- Secure transaction and feedback process
“For the first time in the industry’s history, buyers and sellers can easily find one another and avoid costly broker mark-ups and listing charges,” said Peter Ostrow, TestMart President and CEO.
Sellers can first determine the optimal sale price using TestMart Price Guide.™ Simple online tools at the TestMart website make creating listings easy. Descriptive listings contain details about condition, serial number, calibration, remaining warranty, options and accessories. Once listed, all equipment is immediately available to purchase. The “Make an Offer” feature allows for price negotiation. Once buyers make a purchase, sellers ship directly to the buyer.
After an item has sold, TestMart charges a fixed transaction fee to the seller, which includes the cost of processing the transaction and collecting and remitting the funds between the two parties.
Buyers are provided a higher level of protection and transaction visibility not typically offered elsewhere:
- Sellers must provide detailed information before sale is complete
- Sellers are required to agree to a mandatory five day right-of-return
- TestMart does not release buyer funds until after the right-of-return has expired and after the payment has been processed
